Q3. How do aligners work?

Aligners are a series of custom fitted transparent trays that are fabricated according to the treatment planned for a particular patient. Patient is asked to wear a aligner for a period of one to two weeks before moving to the next aligner. Each aligner moves the teeth to the desired position by fraction of a millimeter .The number of aligners will vary depending on the severity of the case and the treatment plan.

 

Q4. What is the treatment duration with the clear aligners?

The duration of the treatment will depend upon the severity of the case and also upon the treatment plan. The rate of tooth movement by the aligners also depends upon patient’s compliance and how honestly patient follows the instructions. Generally, the treatment duration or a mild case is 10 to 12 months and for a moderate to severe case is 12 to 18 months.
